Question: Currently recall petitions cannot be filed against the Mayor or a member of the Council until at least six months after a recall election. Should the time period during which a recall petition may not be filed after a recall election be lengthened? If so, should the time period be extended to one year or two years?

Proposed Language:

§ 23     Limitations on Recall Petitions

No recall petition shall be filed against the Mayor or a member of the Council within three months after he takes office nor, in case of a person subjected to a recall election and not removed thereby, until at least six months [or one year] [or two years] after that election.
